I'm someone who only knew Gethin online.

I never directly spoke to him, and only discovered

who he was and what he fought for after

watching his videos showcasing the

Robber Baron in 2020 or 2021.

Back then I was still a teenager in high school,

and whilst feeling patriotic towards

my culture and heritage,

I never genuinely cared, nor understood

the history and nuances of Welsh Nationalism.

It is not hyperbolic to say that Gethin's video's

shown on this channel have helped

influence my views towards nationalism

as a whole and made me take an interest

in everything that is to do with Wales,

from its history, to its mythology, religion

and the reason why we campaign for

independence. I remember when I first

watched the Robber Baron video,

there was something in the way that Gethin

spoke and behaved, with his blunt and

candid demeanour that immediately captured

my attention, and made me realise that

politics as a whole don't have to be tedious,

but could be fiery, passionate and zealous.

That's why when I heard the news that

he passed away earlier today,

I was left dumbfounded and shocked.

I hate to say it, but sometimes you forget

that people age, and that those who are in

this world won't live forever. I give my

condolences to his wife and his family,

and hope they can take comfort in the fact

that Gethin inspired many across the world

and that even those who did not know him

directly respected and recognise all that

he stood for. Please always keep everything

that he made, from his blogs, to his videos,

his comments and posts up, for his life's work has masively impacted and inspired me in a positive way, as I'm sure it has for many others.

May you always rest in peace Gethin, and may God bless you. Let your zeal, honesty, loyalty to kith and kin and dogged fighting spirit always be remembered.

Rest in peace Gethin For all that they could say You were brave and stood up for what you

believed in while so many others sat down
