EMBASSY GLYNDWR WELSH INDEPENDENCE PETITION - WELSH ASSEMBLY NO CAN DO? WHAT NEXT?
PETITION STATEMENT
We demand a referendum for Welsh Independence from the U.K. and E.U.
Wales has been under English rule since 1536 and
its no less a need and a priority for our nation to regain its Independence as
England very recently has from the European Union, bearing in mind that the
Welsh people were never given the vote for the 1536 Act of Union/Annexation
imposed on them.
▼More details
We are mindful of the fact that Independence is
actively being sought in Scotland, who did sign an Act of Union with England,
and is also being debated in the case of England, we therefore feel strongly
that Wales has also the just right to demand back our Independence and
Sovereignty as a nation. We are aware that Plaid Cymru is pursuing a campaign
for 'Independence within Europe' but, our aim is for this petition to clarify
the need for Wales to have Independence from both U.K. and the E.U.
Annwyl Gyfeillion
You will see below
that the Welsh cannot hold a referendum on our Independence as the Scots can so, how are
we to advance this objective? Plaid Cymru before continuing with the lie of
an Impossible fantasy of an Independent Wales In Europe a project that neither Belguim,
Spain or France would allow because it would only encourage their ‘Internal
Colonies’ to do like wise, thus no way and YESCYMRU also please note and
will both these organisations thus explain to us how our Independence will
be achieved? STRATEGY AND CAMPAIGNS

Dear Sian
Thank you for submitting the
following petition through the Assembly’s e-petition system:
Llysgenhadaeth Glyndŵr demands a
referendum on Welsh independence from the U.K and E.U.
Before we can host a petition on
the Assembly’s website we have to ensure that it is admissible under the
petitions rules which are available at http://www.assembly.wales/en/gethome/e-petitions/Pages/get-petitions-terms.aspx
Petitions that ask the Assembly
to do anything which the Assembly clearly has no power to do (in particular
petitions about matters that are not devolved) are not admissible.
Constitutional matters, including matters relating to the devolution settlement
and Britain ’s membership of
the EU, are not devolved to Wales .
This means that your petition is not admissible.
I’m sorry we aren’t able
to help you progress this matter through the Assembly’s petitions process.
With very best wishes,
Kathryn
